Register of Approved Vehicles Search
The Register of Approved Vehicles (RAV) is searchable using the vehicle’s permanently marked Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN uniquely identifies a vehicle and is permanently recorded on it. The VIN is usually found at the base of the windscreen (visible from outside the car) or on the door post or foot well of the vehicle.
The Register of Approved Vehicles (RAV) provides information about road vehicles provided in Australia under the Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018 (RVSA). The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications (the department) maintains the RAV for public use but does not accept any liability for the timeliness and/or accuracy of results, nor the availability of the website.
